Aga Muhlach now officially a ‘Kapatid’

Aga Muhlach (Jerome Ascano, NPPA Images)
TV5 has formally welcomed Aga Muhlach as its newest and certified Kapatid.

The contract signing was held on Wednesday, March 30, at TV5's corporate office at the Marajo Towers, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. A press conference at Anabelle's restaurant along Tomas Morato, Quezon City immediately followed to formally launch Aga as a Kapatid to members of the press.

Aga signed a three-year, non-exclusive contract with TV5. During the press conference, Aga revealed that he already has three programs line up. One of the projects may start in June, second may be in August or September and one may be launched next year. TV5 Head of Creative and Entertainment Production Perci Intalan added that Aga will appear in an international franchise reality show.

"Yung projects na gagawin namin are all being lined up now. We've been meeting about it for the past months. May tatlong napakaganda at napakalaking programang gagawin ko na hindi ko pa nagagawa and dito ko lahat magagawa so I'm really excited," said Aga. He also clarified that he won't be hosting the reality show "The Amazing Race" as previously re7ported. "The franchise reality show that we've been working on is even better than that. It's different because sa Amazing Race it's just the contestant, sila yung bida pero dito parang buong madla kasama mo, participating. Dito kasi the viewers from all over will participate. [It's going to be an] Interactive show. Definitely not "Amazing Race."

Now that Aga has officially transferred to TV5, he considers the network his new home, more so he's home for good.

"I signed up for three years and siguro after three years then another three years. I really plan to stay with TV5 cause I'm here now and mahirap naman magpalipat-lipat. You only do it once. This is it.It's really gonna be big for me this year because of first the movies that I've been doing for the past two years are all coming out this year and with TV5, with the shows that I'm coming up with. Exciting talaga," he said.

Aside from his new shows, Aga revealed he may also be co-producing he's own shows.

Why Aga moved

During the press conference Aga revealed why he decided to switch networks. Though grateful to ABS-CBN, Aga admitted he felt a little bit dissatisfied with how his career was handled before in the Kapamilya network.

"No offense to them [ABS-CBN], hindi naman lahat ng lumilipat [ng istasyon] laging may problema. Well sa akin naman hindi ko naman kadikit sa buhay ang problema or ang pagka gulo o skandalo o ano man. This is just as simple as hindi ako nagpaalam kundi nagsabi lang ako that I'm going. I'm moving. It's nothing parang I just wanted something different really and TV5 was offering all these things sa akin," Aga said.

"Mahirap sumagot basta-basta ng ganyan kasi first, the last thing I wanna do is to say something bad about ABS-CBN, which is kung saan ako nanggaling, san ako tumanda, san ako lumaki. And I will always be grateful to them. I just realized that I wanted something new. Bagong atensyon, bagong pakikitungo. Tapos yung mga plano nila, parang iba ang plano nung kabila, parang iba ang direction nila, and with TV5's direction, feeling ko lang dun ko gusto pumunta because they would listen and all they wanna do is just work, come up with good shows. And of course ratings are important but right now before we think of ratings let's do good shows, let's enjoy it and let's see. So it's just like that first. Feeling ko yun ang tama. Because if we it's gonna be the ratings game parang sayang. There's pressure sa lahat ng artists and it's very important that Studios or networks or film companies should take care of their artists at the end of the day because it's their artists that bring in money sa kanila. So parang ganun lang yun. hindi naman kami parang robot na punta ka dito, punta ko don. Of course I can't deny it there's little dissatisfaction when I told them that I was moving out, I told them I'm not gonna point fingers anymore. There's no need. It's useless because nobody's perfect. May mga taong may pagkakamali, probably siguro ako rin. No bad blood. All is good. As a matter of fact even if I'm with TV5 I'm still doing my Star Cinema movie."

TV5 Head of Creative and Entertainment Production Perci Intalan added that the network took its time while negotiating Aga's transfer to the Kapatid network.

I think that [negotiation] actually went smoothly. The only thing that we waited for was maayos muna what kind of projects Aga will do para we know hindi masyado maaga ang pag-announce. Aga was busy working with the films and actually nag relax din habang iniisip niya nagmumuni-muni exactly what it is he wants to do. Ang maganda nga a month ago or a month and a half ago, when we met yun na, ang dami-daming ideas ni Aga on what he wants to do. That's exactly how we do things in TV5 eh we like to involve the artists and find out what it is that would get them excited rather than impose on them what shows we think they should do. We do a dialogue first. And so far that formula has worked for us beautifully in the projects that we had kaya may ownership yung mga stars dun sa mga shows kasi they were involved in the early stage pa lang and that's what we were able to do in the past months or so," said Perci. "One thing that we have to respect is it's a very big decision for Aga with all the years that he's been with ABS-CBN, we know and we undestand that it's a big leap of faith to transfer networks especially to us na we're a new network. We really appreciate it in a big way kaya hindi rin namin minadali now we're talking about the shows very very carefully and deliberately kasi we know this is a big step for him."

Meanwhile Aga denied the Willie Revillame was also responsible for his transfer to TV5 but he admitted that Willie indeed gave him a car.

"Wala naman siyang kinalaman sa paglipat ko. Tska yung pagreregalo niya naman, dapat lang yun. [jokes] Wala naman yun. Naglambing lang ako sa kanya. Sa amin ni Willie sa tagal din naman ng pinagsamahan namin...Hindi naman vintage car yun kotseng yun. Lambingan lang namin yun. Nun pa kami ganun. Kahit nung wala pang trabaho si Willie lahat naman ng kotse ko ginagamit nun. Sa amin that's nothing."

More artists transferring to TV5?

Aga also hinted that more artists may soon be transferring to TV5.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen. It's not even pirating. It's like 'hey I have a project, I want you here. You wanna do it? Parang ganun."

But how about his wife, ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" co-host Charlene Gonzales? Will she be transferring too?

"Well hindi naman siguro, hindi naman kailangan like I think she's happy naman with 'The Buzz' pero we're open to that."

Aside from his upcoming projects with TV5, Aga's movie with Angel Locsin under Star Cinema might be released on May 11 while his movie with Regine Velasquez may be shown on October or November. He also expressed that he may be doing a movie with TV5's film arm, Studio5.

"With my two movies na lalabas, I really want to focus and concentrate sa TV this year and the next couple of years. And the movie I'm probably gonna do next year is with Studio 5 and Star Cinema if they're gonna offer me."

Overall, Aga Muhlach's first press conference as a certified Kapatid was filled with hope and excitement.

"I've been looking forward to this since last year pa and now it's here, it's happened already. Moving on. It's the big one."

Binay confirms 3 Filipinos were executed in China

Vice President Jejomar Binay confirmed that the three Filipinos found guilty of drug trafficking were executed in China on Wednesday.

"I just want to inform you that our three compatriots have been executed," Binay told ABS-CBN television, citing information from the Philippine foreign affairs ministry.

In a statement, the Philippine government said that it has done everything in its power to stop the executions.

"We have been informed that Ramon Credo, Sally Ordinario-Villanueva, and Elizabeth Batain were administered lethal injections to carry out the sentence imposed by the courts of the People’s Republic of China this morning," deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said.

"Our government had taken every available opportunity to appeal to the authorities of China for clemency in their cases, to which the Chinese government responded with a postponement of the execution. In the end, however, the sentence was imposed.

"The nation sympathized with the families of the condemned, sharing their sense of looming loss. We sympathize with these families now. Their deaths are a vivid lesson in the tragic toll the drug trade takes on entire families," she added.

The government spokesperson said that government will "ensure that the chain of victimization, as pushers entrap and destroy lives in pursuit of their trade, will be broken."

"Those who traffic in illegal drugs respect no laws, no boundaries, and have no scruples about destroying lives. Our response must be relentless, with government and the citizenry working together to ensure vigilance and mutual support to prevent our countrymen from being used by drug pushers as sacrificial pawns, whether at home or abroad," the spokesperson added.

DSWD protests ‘Willing Willie’ over dancing 6-year-old

Department of Social Welfare and
Development Secretary Dinky Soliman wrote on
Monday, March 28, a letter of protest to TV5
management, headed by its chairman Manny
Pangilinan, over another controversy involving
"Willing Willie" host Willie Revillame.
Soliman had appealed to the network not to allow
children to endure ridicule and embarrassment
on national television after its early evening
program allowed a six-year-old boy named Jan-
Jan Estrada to perform dance moves akin to male
erotic dancing. During the routine, Jan-Jan was
crying amid laughs from the audience and
strikingly from Revillame himself.
In an e-mail to Yahoo! OMG! Philippines, Soliman
said: "I will write a letter of protest to Channel 5
(and) to Mr. Manny Pangilinan regarding the case
and we should all write him and demand that
children should not be part of the show. They
should not be used as instrument for enjoyment
and to be laughed at. I will send the
communication today."
At one point during Jan-Jan's performance,
The show's spinner then repeated the song the
child had danced to five times after, apparently
forcing the sobbing child to repeat his "macho
dancing," even in his final appearance on a rising
platform on stage.
DSWD statement
A few hours after her e-mail, Soliman sent the
protest letter to TV5 which was addressed to
Pangilinan. In this regard, the DSWD sent Yahoo!
OMG! Philippines its official statement:
"The Department of Social Welfare and
Development (DSWD) condemns the emotional
abuse and humiliation bestowed on a six-year-old
child contestant, during the March 12, 2011
episode of the Willing Willie show aired on TV5.
The sequence shows the boy gyrating in a
distasteful manner with the audience, including
the host (Willie Revillame), manifesting no
evidence of concern or alarm for the child. This
incident is clearly a violation of Republic Act 7610
or the Special Protection of Children Against
Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act and a
blatant manifestation of child abuse. The term
“child abuse” includes the following acts:
“psychological and physical abuse, neglect,
cruelty, sexual abuse and emotional
maltreatment,” and “any act by deeds or words
which debases, degrades or demeans the
intrinsic worth and dignity of the child as a
human being.”
Putting pressure on children to do acts such as
mimicking adult sexy dances, in exchange for a
certain amount of money, and at the expense of
being laughed at and ridiculed by hundreds of
people, clearly traumatizes the child. This is a
clear form of child abuse and will not be tolerated
by the Department of Social Welfare and
Development.
The Department has already communicated to
ABC Development Communication Chairman
Manuel V. Pangilinan asking that children should
not be allowed to appear in TV shows like Willing
Willie, especially those capitalizing on poverty as a
source of immediate entertainment. In the formal
communication with Mr. Pangilinan, the
Department has also rebuked the insensitive
actions and remarks of Mr. Revillame.
On a final note, the Department is also conducting
its own investigation on the said incident and if
warranted under the circumstances, legal action
will be taken against the TV 5 management and
other concerned parties in violation of RA 7610.
The necessary counseling will also be awarded to
the child and his parents, to prevent further
trauma and abuse due to the media hype
brought about by this saddening incident."
MTRCB action
For its part, the Movies and Television Review and
Classification Board (MTRCB) has begun to act on
complaints regarding the "Willing Willie" episode.
In a brief published on its website, the MTRCB
said, "The Board received numerous complaints
about the 12 March 2011 episode of“Willing Willie”
aired over Kapatid Network TV5 where a six-year
old boy contestant was shown to be gyrating
and impersonating the body movements of a
macho dancer.
In accordance with the Board’s duty to enforce
the Constitutional mandate that the State shall
defend the rights of children from all forms of
neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other
conditions prejudicial to their development, the
Board has referred the matter to the Hearing and
Adjudication Committee for appropriate
disposition.
The Board further emphasizes that whenever
children are featured in television programs,
producers are mandated to observe legal
standards stipulated in R.A. 7160 to avoid
“psychological abuse xxx cruelty, sexual abuse
and emotional maltreatment” and “any act by
deeds and words which debases, degrades or
demeans the intrinsic worth and dignity of the
child.”
Meanwhile, TV5 Head of Creative and TV
Entertainment Perci Intalan told Yahoo! OMG!
Philippines that the network and "Willing Willie"
producer Wil Productions are aware of the issue
and the comments of the public regarding the
matter and are currently in discussions on
appropriate action.

Fugitive senator back as Philippines drops warrant

Police say a Philippines senator who fled double
murder charges more than a year ago has
returned after a court voided the arrest warrant
against him.
National Police spokesman Agrimero Cruz said
Senator Panfilo Lacson flew to central Cebu city
from Hong Kong around noon Saturday.
Lacson has insisted he had nothing to do with the
killings of high-profile publicist Bubby Dacer and
his driver in 2000.
He claims the murder charges were part of a
conspiracy against him by former President Gloria
Macapagal Arroyo. Lacson was an an arch-critic of
Arroyo.
The Court of Appeals ruled there was no probable
cause for the arrest warrant. The trial court's
options could include ordering a reinvestigation or
dismissing the case.

Singapore finds radioactive traces in Japanese vegetables

SINGAPORE — Singapore said Thursday that "radioactive contaminants" had been found in four samples of vegetables from Japan and expanded a block on food imports from the disaster-hit country. "Radioactive contaminants have been detected in four samples of vegetables from Japan," said the city-state's food regulator said. "The contaminated samples were imported from the affected prefectures of Tochigi and Ibaraki, as well as Chiba and Ehime which are outside the affected areas," the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) added. It said there was "no cause for alarm" since an adult would need to consume 3.5 kilos (7.7 pounds) of the affected vegetables to receive a level of radiation exposure similar to that generated by one X-ray. A global food scare is spreading as a result of severe damage to a nuclear power plant in Fukushima prefecture following the March 11 quake and tsunami that have left more than 27,000 dead and missing in northeastern Japan. Radioactive traces were found on Japanese wild parsley, rape seed plant, Japanese mustard and perilla leaf, the AVA said in a statement. It said imports of all food and vegetables from Chiba and Ehime were being suspended after an earlier halt in imports of dairy products, fruits, vegetables, seafood and meat from the Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma prefectures. "All the affected shipments have now been detained and will be disposed of in an appropriate manner," the AVA statement said. "We have also expanded the testing of food products from Japan to include high risk processed food such as infant formula and fresh dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cream." The quake has become Japan's deadliest natural disaster since the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, which killed more than 142,000 people. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and taken shelter in emergency facilities.

Pacquiao gains critics as he ‘ votes no ’ to Ombudsman's impeachment on Twitter

Sarangani Rep. and boxing legend Emmanuel
“ Manny" Pacquiao gained critics as he "voted no" on Twitter to the impeachment of Ombudsman
Merceditas Gutierrez on Monday night.
Pacquiao was in training in Baguio City and was
absent during the voting at the House of
Representatives on the impeachment of Gutierrez.
In a 212-46 vote with four abstentions, the lawmakers impeached Gutierrez for alleged
betrayal of public trust due to the low conviction
rates during her term and her supposed inaction
on five high-profile cases.
However, Pacquiao's absence did not prevent him
from showing the public where he stands. Just before midnight on Monday, as the votes were
being counted in the lower house’ s session hall to impeach Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, he
tweeted, “ I vote NO! and I can give my explanation thanks."
No explanation followed, but then his ‘ vote’ was not counted because he was not at the House of
Representatives. Tweets, taunts, tirades Using his Twitter account, responded to hits from
online critics for his absence from Monday’ s impeachment proceedings at the House.
Pacquiao responded to Twitter user @RAndRat by
Minutes earlier, the Twitter user with the account @
RAndRat – who goes by the name “ Reason & Rationality" – had tweeted: “ to h*ll with @congmp. Why the f**k did you run for congress when you
know you ’ d barely be present?" Other Twitter users pulled no punches with
Pacquiao, hitting him for his absence from the House proceedings on the articles of impeachment which ended after midnight and well into the wee
hours of Tuesday morning.
“ Why are you not at the plenary?" tweeted Noemi Dado under the username @momblogger, after the
absentee solon said on Twitter: “ I’ m watching impeachment trial very interesting topic good night
everyone thanks."
Twitter user @bethangsioco added, “ hay I've been harping on his long absences for d longest time."
Tirades from netizens hitting him on his tweets had
Pacquiao throwing in the towel: “ Sorry everyone but hanggang dito nalang delete ko na account ko
thank you very much to all your support."
His account remains active as of posting time – with his latest tweet deleted.
Cautioning the public against fake Twitter accounts
under his name, Pacquiao himself had earlier told
GMA News that his official Twitter account is @ CongMP. – MRT/VVP, GMA News

Arum: Pacquiao ready to fight as early as next week

BAGUIO — Top Rank chairman Bob Arum was obviously impressed with what he saw. The boxing
promoter of more than five decades declared
Manny Pacquiao as being ready to fight even as
early as next week.
“ This is so early, and look how great he is. He can fight next week, probably," said Arum, watching at
ringside while the world's top pound-for-pound
fighter did the mitts with trainer Freddie Roach at
the Shape Up gym of the Cooyesan Hotel.
“ He looks terrific. He looks very, very good." The 12-round title bout with Sugar Shane Mosley at
the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with Pacquiao's World
Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title at
stake, is still six weeks away, but Arum already
noticed something new in Pacquiao's arsenal that
thrilled him no end. “ I like the way he's been using that right hand, because I really believe that the right hand is gonna
tell the story of the fight," said Arum of Pacquiao, a
noted southpaw.
“ Everybody knows that the left hand is his power hand, so Mosley's gonna be looking for that left
hand. But I think he's using his right hand
tremendously and that's gonna be his big
weapon."
Arum arrived in the country early Monday morning,
accompanied by his stepdaughter Dena Duboef and two of Pacquiao's sparmates, Shawn Porter
and David Rodela.
From Manila, they were flown to the country's
summer capital on the private plane of former
Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, just in time to catch
Pacquiao's public workout on his second week of high-altitude training.
And unlike the last time when Arum sounded off
his concern upon seeing the eight-time world
champion looking sluggish in training camp as he
prepared for his title fight against Antonio
Margarito, the Top Rank promoter would have none of those anxieties right now. - KY, RCJ, GMA News

Hindi ko talaga sinasadya,” he said. Del Rosario said he apologized to Eigenmann. Eigenmann, on the other hand, said it was an
accident and accepted del Rosario’ s apology. Meanwhile, director Darnel Joy Villafor said in a
statement that both artists will resume taping next
week. “ What happened between Andi Eigenmann and Martin del Rosario on the set of 'Minsan Lang Kita
Iibigin' was purely an accident. Our actors are
aware of the risks involved when doing action
sequence on the show and their safety is always
our priority. Andi has already been treated for
minor injury, while Martin has apologized to Andi for the mishap,” Villarfor said.

Flash floods destroys P6 million in Bohol town

GARCIA HERNANDEZ, Bohol, Philippines - At least P6 million worth of farm crops and government infrastructure were destroyed when flashfloods, triggered by days of heavy rains, wrecked havoc in this town a local government official said.

Town Mayor Miguelito Galendez said at least six barangays reported damages in agriculture and waterworks systems after Manaba River and smaller creeks in the town overflowed and flooded rice fields, farm lands, and residential areas and left the national highway impassable to light vehicles.

Galendez said the town's planning and agriculture officers have appraised the damages to crops at P5 million and P1 million for public infrastructure, mostly waterworks systems. He added that some residents lost carabaos and water buffalo calves and other livestock which were believed to have been swept away by the floods.

According to the town mayor, affected barangays included Lungsod-daan, East Canaya-on, West Canayaaon, Candulao, Manaba, Malinao, Antipolo, Datag, Tabuan and Togbongon.

Palay fields ripe for harvest were washed out by the unusually huge volumes of water from the mountains, overwhelming creeks and flood control dikes, Galendez reported.

Meanwhile, Municipal Information Officer, Lindsey Marie Vismanos showed photographs of people treading in waters which flooded the national highway at Barangay West Canayaon. She said she also received reports that the floodwaters rose as high as neck-deep in some areas.

Mayor Galendez also reported that a barangay road leading to Togbongon from barangay Tabuan has become impassable due to a cut portion of the road caused by minor landslides.

Along the stretch of the national highway to eastern Bohol towns, reports, yet to be confirmed, of flooding were also reported in the towns of Dimiao and Guindulman towns.

Bianca Paz speaks out on Bb. Pilipinas disqualification

Bianca Paz
Bianca Paz, the fourth candidate removed from the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant, clarified allegations following Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. decision to disqualify her from the beauty competition over a sexy calendar photo shoot taken two years ago.

"I would like to clear things up regarding the issue for the FIRST and LAST time. To make a long story short, I took part in a calendar shoot 2 years ago which never came to mind as a possible hindrance for my participation in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant as I made sure that the finished result would not be less than tasteful and even of editorial standard before being published. Unfortunately, BPCI did not have the same opinion of the said shoot and so as of today I have been officially DISQUALIFIED." said Bianca in a statement posted in her Facebook page.

"I would also like to make clear that there are NO, I repeat, NO nude photos or "sex videos" anywhere existing. I respect and accept BPCI's decision and refuse to make the issue any bigger than it already is. I only ask that everyone does the same and refrain themselves from making false judgements and ignorant accusations towards me and anyone else involved. At this point, it's all very unnecessary. Instead, I encourage everyone to show support to all remaining candidates and... well... Enjoy the show! This is, after all, 'entertainment.' I want to thank everyone that has supported me. God bless and I love you all! - B <3," Bianca added. Meanwhile, earlier today, in his Twitter posts, Bianca's boyfriend, model and former actor Andrew Wolff shared his sentiments over his girlfriend's removal from the pageant's candidate list. He claimed a candidate's mom had pushed for Bianca's disqualification. ":( Politics definately at play here. Hope their mom's are proud! -- RT @iambiancapaz: Goodbye Bb. Pilipinas! Goodluck to all the ladies competing :-)" His message to the candidate's mom: "Your daughter will NEVER win... Tandaan mo 'yan...I hate people who can not accept the fact they are NOT the best and have to ruin other people's dreams for their own benefit." Andrew further tweeted he won't name names. "...Hindi po ako nagbunyag ng kahit isang pangalan. Kayo na po ang magpasiya kung sino ang aking pinatatamaan at itinutukoy..." BPCI had released its official statement to ABS-CBN News concerning the organization's decision to disqualify Bianca. "Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. has today removed another candidate from the 2011 roster due to circumstances affecting her which recently came to light. As with the previous statement, we urge everyone to cease further speculation regarding the matter as respect to the privacy and integrity of all those concerned." Before Bianca, the pageant organizers had disqualified three candidates: Roxanne Cabanero, Grendel Alvarado, and Jenilyn "Jen" Olivar from the original top 40 finalists of the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas pageant. Dog in Japan stays by the side of its ailing friend in the rubble

It's a universal truth that dogs are man's best friend, but they're pretty darn loyal to their own as well. Case in point: this tear-inducing video, via the website Jezebel, showing a dog, shivering and disoriented, remaining loyally by the side of a stricken fellow canine amid the devastation of the Japanese tsunami.

You can watch the video below:

The video is a stark reminder that, as was the case when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005, there will likely be thousands of pets orphaned or involuntarily abandoned due to the catastrophe in Japan. If you'd like to help efforts to help these animals, you can find info on doing so here.

UPDATE: CNN and the UK Telegraph have both reported that the dogs have been rescued since the footage aired, and are both receiving veterinary care; the more seriously wounded dog is at a clinic in the city of Mito, while the protective spaniel-type dog is receiving care at a shelter in the same town.

Here is an English translation of the voiceover exchange between the two reporters in the clip (translation courtesy of Toshiyuki Kitamura):

We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.

He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.

Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.

Where?

Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.

The dog is protecting him.

Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.

I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.

Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.

Yes! Yes! He is alive.

He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.

Oh good. He's getting up.

It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.

I ♥ MYX Music Awards 2011: Yeng Constantino wins big; Regine Velasquez receives MYX Magna Award

"Thank you everyone!

"I'm seriously dehydrated! Ang dami kong tears! Saan kaya galing 'to?" biro ng Asia's Songbird.

Justin Bieber fans sneak into his hotel room in Liverpool

justin bieberJustin Bieber fans dressed up as cleaners and
entered his hotel room in Liverpool. The 17-year-old singer was furious when two girls
aged 16 and 18 were discovered in his suite at the
Hard Days Night Hotel in the English city— where he performed last week— and had them swiftly evicted after a "telling-off" for taking pictures and trying to
get into his bed. A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The
hotel was swamped by fans all desperate to catch a
glimpse of Justin. But two particularly enterprising
girls snuck in through a side entrance and stole
two housekeeping outfits. "After ditching their regular clothes and slipping
into their new costumes they got the lift to Justin's
suite and knocked on the door, calling,
'Housekeeping.' Having been allowed in, the girls
began half-heartedly polishing tables and dusting
surfaces. "No one realized until the girls were alone, and in
his bedroom taking pictures of his personal
possessions on their phones. A member of Justin's
entourage in another part of the suites heard them
giggling and came through catching them in the
act. "The girls, following a telling-off, were evicted from
the premises." Upon hearing of the incident on Friday night
(March 11) Justin— who wasn't in his suite at the time— checked out of the hotel and slept in his tour bus. However, the hotel insist they have had no
knowledge of the incident. A spokesperson said: "There was a strong police
presence outside not letting in members of the
public, plus we employed an extra 20 security
personnel." Justin— who has been staying in the three-bedroom McCartney suite penthouse in the hotel— was last week trapped inside the building, with police
telling him he was not allowed to leave or
approach the balcony because so many fans were
waiting outside. Tweeting prior to the incident, the 'Baby' hitmaker
said: "This is crazy. There are like thousands of
people out there. "Love everybody but gonna try and get some
sleep. Please don't scream. Lol (sic)"

Alleged sex tape of Usher and his ex-wife up for sale

usher and tameka
A sex tape allegedly featuring Usher and his ex-
wife is up for sale. The footage reportedly shows the "OMG" hitmaker
and Tameka Foster engaged in several X-rated acts,
according to gossip website TMZ. It is believed the recording of Usher and Tameka — with whom he has two sons, Usher V, three, and
two-year-old Naviyd Eli— was among $1 million worth of items that were stolen from his car in
December 2009. It is not clear at which point during Usher and
Tameka's relationship the video was made, though
TMZ say they have seen the footage and some still
images and confirmed it is the former couple. Late in 2009, the R&B reported items including
jewellery and two laptop computers had been
taken from his vehicle. A spokesperson for the singer has not yet
commented on the sex tape reports. Usher, 32, is not the first celebrity to become the
unwilling star of a sex tape. Former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson was left
"hurt" last year when a video she made with then-
boyfriend Justin Frye when she was just 18 was
released as a DVD entitled Kendra Exposed last
year. Paris Hilton was seen participating in several sex
acts with her ex-lover Rick Salomon in the DVD
release 1 Night in Paris.

First casualty in PH ’ s tallest bridge

agas-agas bridge
SOGOD, SOUTHERN LEYTE – What was to be joyride amongst friends to visit the country’ s tallest bridge quickly turned tragic as 20-year-old Lowela Aguero jumped off the Agas-agas bridge and plunged to her death. According to initial reports from her relatives Lowela Aguero who is a native of Maasin City invited her friends to go to Sogod town to visit the bridge since it was reportedly one of her favorite places to visit. Little did her friends know that Aguero had something else in mind as she suddenly started to distance herself from them while at the bridge. Alarmed, her friends started to lead her away from the edge of the bridge, and then she pushed them away and suddenly jumped. The 90-meter tall (30 stories down) Agas-Agas Bridge, the tallest in the country was opened to the public on August 8, 2009 as an essential link in connecting the Visayas and Mindanao road network. Many Southern Leytenos who attended Aguero ’ s wake said that such a waste of life could have been prevented if proper safety precautions were built on the bridge. Before the incident the provincial government of Southern Leyte and the Southern Leyte Chamber of Commerce have revealed proposed plans to make the bridge and its surroundings to a extreme sports venue wherein bungee jumping and zipline rapelling would be offered to the public to help generate tourism revenue for the local government. Many sectors now in Southern Leyte have expressed their concerns after the death of Aguero on the bridge’ s inadequate safety measures for the public and also the bridge’ s lack of security from any terrorist attack.

Japan battles to contain nuclear crisis after huge quake

FUKUSHIMA, Japan (Reuters) – Japan scrambled on Saturday to reduce pressure in two nuclear plants damaged after a massive earthquake and tsunami struck its northeast coast probably killing at least 1,300 people.

A day after the biggest quake on record in Japan, the government said it was still too early to grasp the full extent of damage or casualties. The confirmed death toll so far is almost 300, though media reports say it is at least 1,300.

"Unfortunately, we must be prepared for the number to rise greatly," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters.

The tremor, with a magnitude of 8.9, was so huge that thousands fled their homes from coastlines around the Pacific Rim, as far away as North and South America, fearful of a tsunami.

Most appeared to have been spared anything more serious than some high waves, unlike Japan's northeast coastline which was hammered by a 10-meter high tsunami that turned houses and ships into floating debris as it surged into cities and villages, sweeping aside everything in its path.

"I thought I was going to die," said Wataru Fujimura, a 38-year-old sales representative in Koriyama, Fukushima, north of Tokyo and close to area worst hit by the quake.

"Our furniture and shelves had all fallen over and there were cracks in the apartment building, so we spent the whole night in the car . Now we're back home trying to clean everything up."

The government warned of a possible radiation leak as authorities began trying to reduce pressure at damaged two nuclear plants, sending tens of thousands of residents out of the area to avoid possible contamination.

Tokyo Electric Power Co (Tepco) said it had begun steps to release pressure at its two nuclear power plants in Fukushima, some 240 km (150 miles) north of Tokyo.

But Kyodo news agency quoted the company as saying it was having difficulties opening a valve at its Daiichi reactor to release pressure.

Experts and the government both insisted there would be no radioactive disaster.

"No Chernobyl is possible at a light water reactor. Loss of coolant means a temperature rise, but it also will stop the reaction," Naoto Sekimura, a professor at the University of Tokyo, said.

"Even in the worst-case scenario, that would mean some radioactive leakage and equipment damage, but not an explosion. If venting is done carefully, there will be little leakage. Certainly not beyond the 3 km radius."

The unfolding natural disaster, which has been followed by dozens of aftershocks, prompted offers of search and rescue help from 50 countries.

In one of the worst-hit residential areas, people buried under rubble could be heard calling out for rescue, Kyodo news agency reported. TV footage showed staff at one hospital waving banners with the words "FOOD" and "HELP" from a rooftop.

In Tokyo, tens of thousands of office workers were stranded overnight after the quake shut down public transport. Many were forced to bed down where they could, with newspapers to lie on and briefcases for pillows.

Kyodo said at least 116,000 people in Tokyo had been unable to return home on Friday evening due to transport disruption.

The northeastern Japanese city of Kesennuma, with a population of 74,000, was hit by widespread fires and one-third of the city was under water, Jiji news agency said on Saturday.

The airport in the coastal city of Sendai, home to one million people, was on fire, it added.

"Sendai (city) is now completely sunk underwater," said limousine driver Yoshikatsu Takayabe, 52. "What do I want the government to do? I can't flush the toilet, I want the water back on in my house."

TV footage from Friday showed a black torrent of water carrying cars and wrecked homes at high speed across farmland near Sendai, 300 km (180 miles) northeast of Tokyo. Ships had been flung onto a harbor wharf, where they lay helplessly.

Kyodo news agency reported that contact had been lost with four trains in the coastal area.

The disaster poses a huge challenge for Kan's government which has come under such concerted attack from the opposition and within the ruling Democratic Party (DJP) that it has struggled to implement any policy.

Just hours before the quake struck, Kan was rejecting demands that he resign, his political future looking increasingly bleak and unable even to muster enough support to ensure the passage of bills needed to enact the new budget.

But after the tremor, politicians pushed for an emergency budget to fund relief efforts, with Kan urging them to "save the country," Kyodo reported.

Japan is already the most heavily indebted major economy in the world, meaning any additional borrowing by the government would be closely scrutinized by financial markets.

MANY FIRES

The quake, the most powerful since Japan started keeping records 140 years ago, sparked at least 80 fires in cities and towns along the coast, Kyodo said.

"When I felt the quake yesterday, I actually thought it was a strong wind slamming the door," said Emiko Nakahara, 61.

"But then my husband said no, it's a quake. I was frightened like I've never been before."

Other nuclear power plants and oil refineries were shut down and one refinery was ablaze. Power to millions of homes and businesses was knocked out. Several airports, including Tokyo's Narita, were closed on Friday and rail services halted. All ports were shut.

Nuclear power plant operator Tepco warned of severe power shortages over the weekend.

The central bank said it would cut short a two-day policy review scheduled for next week to one day on Monday and promised to do its utmost to ensure financial market stability.

The disaster struck as the world's third-largest economy had been showing signs of reviving from an economic contraction in the final quarter of last year. It raised the prospect of major disruptions for many key businesses and a massive repair bill running into tens of billions of dollars.

The earthquake was the fifth most powerful to hit the world in the past century. It surpassed the Great Kanto quake of September 1, 1923, which had a magnitude of 7.9 and killed more than 140,000 people in the Tokyo area.

The 1995 Kobe quake caused $100 billion in damage and was the most expensive natural disaster in history.

Looming ‘ supermoon’ did not trigger Japan tremblor, tsunami

supermoon
Did the approaching “ extreme supermoon" event – when the full moon comes closest to the Earth in
alignment with the sun – trigger Friday’ s magnitude-8.9 Japan earthquake and resulting
tsunami, as was foretold by an astrologer?
“ No, it did not," answered the website EarthSky.org – which claims to have more than 600 science advisors and partners such as the United States’ National Aerospace Authority (NASA), National
Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),
and the Geological Society of America. EarthSky founder and president, Deborah Byrd,
emphatically said: “ The March 11 moon [referring to the moon’ s position on the day of the Japan earthquake] does not prove the supermoon-
earthquake theory. In fact, it disproves it."
In an online article, astrologer Richard Noelle said he coined the word “ supermoon" in 1979 to describe “ what is technically termed a perigee- syzygy," where a new or full moon at its closest
approach to Earth (perigee) in a given orbit.
The full moon on March 19 is at its lunar perigee,
the closest it gets to the Earth. At a distance of
356,577 km, this is closest the moon has gotten in
the past 18 years. “ In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with [the] Moon in its nearest approach to Earth," Noelle
said, as explanation of what a supermoon is. Conflicting opinions A day before the Japan quake, an article was posted online on Life's Little Mysteries – a sister site of Space.com – started going around other online news websites like Yahoo!News and MSNBC.
The article said: “ The bottom line is, the upcoming supermoon won't cause a preponderance of
earthquakes, although the idea isn't a crazy one,"
assured the article.
But Noelle claims that “ the Mt. Pinatubo eruption, the largest volcanic event in the second half of the
20th Century, took place on June 15, 1991 (within
three days of a SuperMoon)"
He also said: “ Of course, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions don't go wandering all over the planet.
They happen in (mostly) predictable locations, like
the infamous ‘ Ring of Fire’ around the Pacific plate."
An Australian website had earlier cited conflicting opinions of two scientists on what it branded as
“ Moonageddon". Astronomy lecturer Dr. David Reneke told
news.com.au that: “ If you try hard enough you can chronologically associate almost any natural
disaster/event to anything in the night sky ... comet,
planet, sun."
But planetary and environmental geoscientist Dr.
Victor Gostin did not discount some correlation
between near-equatorial large scale earthquakes and full moon situations, saying: “ This is because the Earth-tides (analogous to ocean tides) may be
the final trigger that sets off the earthquake." ‘ Earth-tides’ – true or false? Byrd conceded that: “ The moon does indeed cause tides in the solid body of Earth, just as it causes
ocean tides. So it’ s logical to assume an especially close full moon might cause geologic activity to
increase."
But she dismissed offhand as “ fringe" studies those allegedly proving a connection between the moon
and geologic activity.
She also pointed out that “ the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan occurred when
the moon was at first quarter, and not particularly
close to Earth. March 11, 2011 should be a time of
neap tides – or least tidal range – not at a time of high spring tides. The March 11 moon is not an
example of a supermoon."
“ Will the March 19, 2011 close full moon cause floods? Yes, that’ s different," Byrd distinguished. “ Now we’ re on more solid ground. Close full moons do cause maximum tidal ranges. So if a
storm moves into a coastline on the day a full moon
is closest, it can cause flooding along that coast. If
you live along a coast, and a storm is heading your
way on or around March 19 … expect possible flooding and take precautions." — JV, GMA News

Friends pay tribute to ex-PBA chief

rudy salud
MANILA, Philippines -- Former Philippine Basketball
Association (PBA) commissioner Atty. Rudy Salud
passed away on Monday due to heart failure. He
was 72. Aside from once heading the PBA, Salud was also
well known internationally as the founding
secretary general of the World Boxing Council
(WBC). He led the PBA as its commissioner from 1998 to
1991, but was part of its growth through the years.
He was also the league's founding legal counsel
and became deputy commissioner to Mariano
Yenko. Before the Alaska-San Miguel game at the PBA at
the Cuneta Astrodome on Wednesday, the crowd
in attendance gave Salud a moment of silence, as
pictures of the former commissioner were flashed
on screen while his triumphs as a sportsman were
read out loud. Salud is remembered by friends in the sporting
world as a passionate man. One of his best friends, sports columnist Ronnie
Nathanielsz, recalled how their 47-year friendship
began with an argument. Since then, however, he became mesmerized by
the man who lived with integrity and a passionate
heart for all Filipino athletes, especially basketball
players and boxers. One of the best Filipino boxers of all time, Gerry
Peñalosa, dropped by the wake on Wednesday
night to pay his last respects. Peñalosa remembered his long-time manager as a
passionate man who helped him in any way
possible. He proudly shared that there would not
have been a Gerry Peñalosa if there was no Rudy
Salud. One of Nathanielsz’ s final moments with his friend was when Salud asked him to tell Nonito Donaire
Jr. that he would win against Montiel, and would be
one of the greatest champions the Filipino people
would ever have. Salud went as far as predicting 5 to 6 more belts for
Donaire, and that he will be the next Manny
Pacquiao of the Philippines.

Eat Bulaga! stays with the Kapuso network for another three years

eat bulaga
Mananatiling Kapuso pa rin ang Eat Bulaga!
hanggang taong 2014. Pumirma ng extension contract sa GMA-7 ang TAPE
Inc., na siyang producer ng longest-running
noontime show sa bansa, kaninang hapon, March
Felipe Gozon at Mr.
Malou Choa-Fagar. Sinaksihan ito ng mga Dabarkads (Eat Bulaga!
hosts) sa pangunguna nina Senator Tito Sotto, Vic
Sotto, at Joey de Leon; kasama sina Anjo Yllana,
Jimmy Santos, Allan K, at Ruby Rodriguez. RENEWAL OF VOWS.
manonood. Habang tumatagal ay lalo raw silang lumalakas at
nagiging masipag para lalong pagandahin ang Eat
Bulaga!. "Hindi na kami napapagod, e," sabi ni Joey. "Bale
ito na ang aming pahinga dahil more than 30 years
nagpapahinga at nare-recharge." Hindi naman itinatanggi ni Mr. Duavit na malaking
bagay ang mga naririnig nilang may mga ilang
istasyong balak kunin ang Eat Bulaga!. Aniya, "Hindi naman maipagkakaila na may mga
haka-haka na nadiding at hindi namin maitatanggi
na sanhi rin ito ng desisyong mag-extend ng
contract.
Parang
babaeng maganda iyan na maraming nanliligaw."

Phivolcs raise tsunami alert, waves expected Friday afternoon

japan quake
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has raised the Tsunami alert to Level 2 , hours after an 8.8-magnitude quake hit Northern Japan. In its Twitter account, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the alert level has been raised to level 2, and has advised the public to be “ on alert for unusual waves.” “ The concerned public is advised to BE ON ALERT FOR UNUSUAL WAVES. Based on tsunami wave models and early tide gauge records of the tsunami in the Pacific, coastal areas in the Philippine provinces fronting the Pacific Ocean are expected to experience wave heights of at most one meter,” said NDRMMC in a statement. NDRMMC said the first tsunami waves are expected to arrive between 5:00PM to 7:00PM Friday. The agency also warned that the “ waves may continue for hours.” “ People are advised to stay away from the shoreline during this period. People should not go to the coast to watch the tsunami. People whose houses are very near coastal areas facing the Pacific Ocean are strongly advised to go farther inland,” it added. Earlier, these provinces were placed under alert following the strong earthquake in Northern Japan. In a bulletin issued, these provinces are under watch:
• Batanes Group of Islands
• Cagayan
• Ilocos Norte
• Isabela
• Quezon
• Aurora
• Camarines Norte
• Camarines Sur
• Albay
• Catanduanes
• Sorsogon
• Northern Samar
• Eastern Samar
• Leyte
• Southern Leyte
• Surigao del Norte
• Surigao del Sur
• Davao Oriental
• Davao del Sur
Japan on Friday afternoon registered an 8.8 magnitude earthquake, which NDRRMC said “ has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines in the region near the epicenter within minutes to hours.” “ The pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii will monitor sea level gauges nearest the region and report if any tsunami wave activity is observed,” NDRRMC said. In an Associated Press report, it said that in Japan’ s capital, “ large buildings shook violently and workers poured into the street for safety. ”

Sid Lucero has "no limits" when it comes to shooting scenes with Marian Rivera in Amaya

sid lucero
Sid Lucero was in a great mood earlier today, March
10, when he found out about his back-to-back
nominations in the 8th Golden Screen Awards. He is nominated in the Best Actor-Drama category
for the film Muli and in the Best Supporting Actor
category for Rosario. Another reason for his upbeat disposition is the
fact that the actor was introduced as the celebrity
endorser of Great Taste Trio during the media
launch held at the Holiday Inn Galleria. "Flattering would be the word 'coz it's my first
endorsement. I'm speechless," he said. To top it all off, he also received a coffee-cup
shaped birthday cake from his Great Taste family to
mark his birthday that will happen on March 12. SID IS SINGLE. Sid's seven-year relationship with
Rozie Delgado ended last year, prompting
members of the press to ask if he is dating anyone
right now. He answered, "I go out and see other
people. Let's see what happens." Is he ready to fall in love again? "That depends... Actually, who is ever ready? You
don't know. Bigla ka na lang magugulat. I just
came from a seven-year relationship and then I'm
dating someone..." said Sid. ON WORKING WITH MARIAN RIVERA. Sid made
news when he agreed to be one of Marian Rivera's
leading men in GMA-7's Amaya. Professional model
Mikael Daez is the other leading man who will
topbill this epicserye. As soon as he learned that he would be paired
with Marian, Sid took the time to learn more about
his new leading lady. "I talked to my brother Gabby [Eigenmann] kasi I
know he's really good friends with Dingdong
[Dantes, Marian's boyfriend]. I did my homework
and I asked things na probably makakatulong sa
trabaho namin. Para ma-skip na yung 'getting-to-
know you' [stage] and breaking the physical boundaries. "I'm really excited...being given the chance to
work with her," he said with a smile. Have they attended a workshop together? "I did a reading with her. Ang workshop namin so
far ay action workshop. She's very giving. Sobrang
patient niya. She actually remembered that she met
me sa wedding ni Ryan [Eigenmann, his cousin]." Since this epicserye is set during pre-colonial times,
Sid says that they use the Filipino martial art of
arnis. "Buti na lang I have a little background on
arnis but we use one stick lang." When PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked
him if he is open to doing kissing scenes with
Marian in this GMA-7 fantaserye, he candidly
answered, "I have no limits. In fact, the only time I
gave myself a limit...it depends on who I am
working with. If he or she has got walls, then I'll stick to those walls and I won't cross. "But if that person is as open as I am...there are
some actors who you don't have to talk to and you
understand na." RETURNING TO GMA-7. As a freelancer, Sid is able to
work with different networks. His last project with
the Kapuso Network was the fantaserye Etheria
(2005) but he has since appeared in many ABS-
CBN shows. Last year, he was nominated in the 38th edition of
the International Emmy Awards. His role in the
Kapamilya teleserye Dahil May Isang Ikaw earned
him a nomination in the Best Performance by an
Actor category. Even though Sid lost to British actor
Bob Hoskins for The Street, he made his countrymen proud for being the first Filipino actor
to compete in this prestigious event.
"The first network I worked with was GMA-7 and I
learned a lot. Then I went to ABS-CBN and now I'm
going back. I'm happy that they gave me another
chance," he told PEP. Sid emphasized that he is still a freelancer and that
he informed ABS-CBN executives properly before
accepting the role in Amaya. "Per project lang
talaga. That's why it's extra-flattering for someone
to stay in one network. "Of course, we asked permission if it's okay.
Although there's no exclusivity or anything, pero
siyempre, nagpaalam pa rin kasi nga loyalty. They
gave us the go signal," recalled Sid.

Pampi on Jodi: 'We silently parted ways'

jodi sta. Maria
Pampi Lacson has finally ended speculations about the status of his marriage with actress Jodi Sta. Maria. In his statement aired last Sunday in Paparazzi, Pampi admitted he and Jodi had indeed separated. "Inaamin ko na na ang pagsasama naming mag- asawa ay kasalukuyang dumadaan sa isang matinding pagsubok. Isang pagsubok ito na pinagsisikapan naming mahinahon na malampasan alang alang sa aming anak at kapwa pamilya. It has been seven months since we silently parted ways," the statement said.
Pampi, son of Sen. Panfilo Lacson, clarified that he did not physically hurt Jodi as what rumors claim. He also appealed to the public not to solely blame
him for whatever happened to their marriage. The negative issues according to the statement had been causing more pain to their family, most especially to their son, Thirdy. Jodi herself corroborated Pampi's denial in a recent radio interview with dzMM anchor Jobert Sucaldito.
"We would have maintained that silence until we resolve the issue about our marriage when the malicious and totally eroneous reports came out. I particularly would like to take exception to accusations that our situation came about solely out of my wrongdoings.
Meanwhile, Jodi has chosen to keep mum about the issue after Pampi's statement was released.
Star Magic, which handles Jodi's career, instead released its official statement which was aired on ABS-CBN's "SNN" on the night of Tuesday, March 8. "We respect Jodi's decision not to comment on her marital issue. We hope that the public understands as Jodi and Pampi care for the welfare of their son. Thank you," the Star Magic statement said.

Julia: 'I trust Illac'

julia clarete

TV host-actress Julia Clarete never imagined that her boyfriend, entrepreneur-philanthropist Illac Diaz would cheat on her.
“ I trust Illac,” Julia said in this exclusive interview with Yahoo! Southeast Asia on Monday, March 7, in the offices of the talent management company All Access to Artists (Triple A), where she is now a talent. It was alleged that Julia stormed a parish church in San Pedro, Laguna to confront Illac and his supposed companion at that time, Laguna provincial board member and former TV host- actress Angelika Jones.
In a Manila Bulletin column “ Gossip Girl” last February 22, comedienne Giselle Sanchez wrote, "According to my deep penetration agent in San Pablo City, Julia Clarete was reportedly seen storming the San Pablo parish while the churchgoers were coming out from mass… Her snitches were right when Julia saw Angelica Jones and Young Global Leader awardee Illac Diaz coming out from church.” But, Giselle said Julia had been “ settled to peace” when Illac reportedly claimed he was merely accompanying Angelica, who was celebrating her birthday.
Giselle quoted Angelica as claiming that she and Illac were “ dating exclusively ” when they worked together in a public classroom construction project using plastic bottles and that they eventually stopped seeing each other to concentrate on their respective roles in the project. “ That was the time he started to date Julia and he told me about it,” Angelica was further quoted as saying.
Giselle attested in her column that both Illac and Angelica were “ brainstorming for more projects together in the hot jacuzzis of the Laguna springs." Julia denies Giselle's story According to Julia, Illac and Angelica never dated exclusively and she has never stormed a Laguna church in her life.
“ You know I checked Angelica ’ s birthday, it’ s January 20. Sa appointment book ko, that day, kadarating ko pa lang from Iloilo and then nag Eat Bulaga (where she’ s a co-host) ako live. After that, nag-Bible study na ako. I could never be in San Pablo that day, I’ ve never been to their church and I’ ve never met Angelika outside of showbiz,” Julia noted. As for Angelica ’ s supposed claim that she and Illac were “ dating exclusively ” during the project, Julia stressed, “ kami na ni Illac ng February, the project started August or September so how could they date exclusively prior to August kung kami na by February pa lang. ” Julia and Illac became an item since February 2010. They have a lot of common interests including Illac’ s school bottle project he initiated in Laguna that also involved Angelica being a local official.
“ I also do a lot of tinkering, mekaniko rin ako so I’ m interested in the things he does,” Julia told Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
The Laguna plastic bottle classroom project started in September but as early as June, he and Julia had been frequently traveling to Laguna.
“ That time, by his invitation, together with my son, we traveled to Laguna,” Julia said. Giselle further quoted Angelica as saying: “ I was also pretty shocked to see Julia in church on my birthday and she did not seem so happy to see me and Illac together.” New revelation However, Julia claimed the opposite in one particular encounter also in Laguna.
“ Kumain kami sa isang karinderya, the side walk thing, and enjoy naman kami. Then Illac received a call so tumayo muna siya para sagutin ito. I saw
his (Illac’ s) face while talking on the phone, parang galit,” she said. “ Then, a car went by, nag park sa harap namin. Ganoon lang, tapos umalis na.” When Illac returned, Julia asked him who he was talking to and what it was all about. Illac said it was Angelica and she was upset.
“ Tinanong ko si Illac, bakit siya upset and Illac showed me the text message of Angelica: ‘ bakit mo dinadala ang babaeng yan sa bayan ko? Wag
sa bayan ko!, ” she said. ‘ Nagulat ako, wow statement ito. At saka bakit siya ang magagalit? Ako ang girlfriend so I asked Illac if there is something going on between him and Angelica. Wala raw, business lang daw talaga and he cannot imagine why Angelica will think otherwise. ” Julia further stated that she continued to trust Illac’ s word that nothing is going on between him and Angelica, despite the “ fears” of people close to her.
"Sa surprise birthday party ko na binigay niya, friends are asking me, bakit may balita raw na may something daw kina Illac and Angelika and I began to worry for him. You know, Illac is recognized internationally for his work. Ayoko naman na (i-search) mo (sa Internet) ang pangalan niya tapos ang lalabas ito,” Julia said. 'I believe him' “ I asked Illac again, not doubting him, just asking him kasi some of our friends are asking na rin and he said there is nothing to it and I believe him,” she declared. Why does she believe him?
“ I have met several of Illac’ s ex girlfriends and some of the women he dated. I could attest that he is a gentleman of taste,” Julia said to finish this issue.
In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Illac branded Giselle’ s statements as “ lies, lies, lies.” He also claimed confronting Giselle about the matter and said the comedienne had then made another story out of her earlier published assertion.
"None of these happened...I suppose, any decent reporter, or those who cover the entertainment beat, should give their subjects the
benefit of the doubt in such sensitive issues," Illac told PEP. "But Giselle Sanchez never spoke to Julia first! She knows Julia. She knows me. She knows how we can be contacted before she wrote her piece...Giselle actually feels that she is not answerable to anybody and can instigate this
kind of thing, no matter how damaging it could be."
Angelica also denied the statements attributed to her and wished that the controversy would be put to rest for the sake of all parties concerned. Giselle speaks For her part, Giselle had also spoken to PEP and said she had agreed to have Illac’ s side published in her column. But she expressed disappointment in a text message to PEP that Illac
was “ blowing the issue out of proportion.” She also revealed that Illac left a “ hurtful” message in her Facebook wall:
“ I just saw your article on the triangle allegation on line and I just want to say what a bunch of crap you seem to be spewing out just because you get paid to write something on your column. Is it when you have nothing to write, you have to
make things up because it makes the stomach churn to feed yourself with such ill-earned money. There is no church barnstorming and no fights. Keep the dirt on your side of the fence. So keep your yellow journalism, and let me work in peace. - Illac Diaz” "Is this the response of an educated and cultured
man?,” Giselle further said in her message to PEP. "I had a very high regard for Illac and his projects. But after this FB message, he clearly does not have any respect for women and all he loves is himself.”

2010-11 NBA Season | Miami Heat Players Cry After A Loss

lebron james
The Miami Heat still have no answer for Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls as for the third time this season, they were beaten to give the series sweep to the Bulls. Rose scored 27 points in his team’ s 87-86 win while handing the Heat their fourth consecutive loss. And for the nth time, the Heat’ s inability to win in the clutch has the league laughing at them. It even became more interesting when during the post-game press conference, coach Eric Spoelstra told media, “ This is painful for every single one of us to go through this, there are couple of guys crying in the locker room right now, it is not a matter of want.” How pathetic. Crying over a regular season game like someone just died? I think they were crying because of embarrassment. After all, this is a team that boasts the power trio of Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh – one of the most talented ever assembled, yet, they could
not buy shots when needed. Even before the season started, there were talks of how they will break the single-season win record of 72 by Michael Jordan’ s Chicago Bulls in 1996. But now, they have underperformed, to the dismay of many. Dwyane Wade says, “ Inside our locker room, we stick together, we’ re like brothers,. We win together, we lose together. Outside, the Miami Heat are exactly what everyone wanted, losing games. The world is better now since the Heat is losing.” I will not wonder if after this, they will go on a 10- game winning streak.
